Education Organizer

Central Brooklyn Churches is a faith-based
organization empowering Brooklyn residents through
developing leadership and taking strategic action to
build community power.

We are searching for an Education Organizer who will
continue the work of building a powerful base of
parents to improve the quality of education in our
neighborhood schools and holding the public school
system accountable for educating our community's
youth. In addition, the Education Organizer will work
with local churches and other parent organizing groups
to build a city-wide movement for education change.

Responsibilities include:
-Conduct grassroots outreach to identify community
-Conduct one-to-one meetings with parents, church and
community members
-Conduct leadership training sessions for parents and
church leaders
-Recruit new churches to the organization
-Design publicity and informational materials on
community issues
-Work with community to research local concerns
-Plan local actions around community issues
-Provide written reports at staff meetings

The Education Organizer must have strong communication
skills, computer skills, a college degree and the
ability to work flexible hours. Experience with
churches and bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Salary in low 30s with medical benefits.
